I just bought a Flip HD the other day. It cost around $200 at my local bestbuy. Now first thing I liked when I opened it up was that it came with a soft case that can be used for cleaning the lens. That’s a big plus in my book, when you open the box you will expect more accessories… don’t, it is a very maintenance and accessory free camera! It charges from the flip out usb connector and needs no memory sticks.

SO on to what really matters. Video quality. The quality is good, it does shoot in 720P which is a plus for youtubers, although there is no image stabilization. But it is not hard to get a good stabilizer or build your own custom one for this camera. I might do a tutorial later on for everyone, just remind me. =)

Almost forgot, for those of you that use WMM regularly to edit your videos, Mp4′s will not import into Windows Movie Maker for you, you would have to convert it before importing. You would be better off using Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas.

Well, I’m out for now friends, don’t forget to watch for my new videos on youtube with the Flip.

Youtube trash talk running rampant! The other day I had somebody talking trash to me on one of my comments. It was completely unnecessary and blatant. So I fired back. And this exchange went back and forth a few times. So I thought I would be funny and find out the persons real name since It’s pretty easy to find information on the web, if someone does know how to hide it. Well after I did about 5 minutes of digging, not only did I find out his full name, I also found out where he lived and that he was just a kid living with his parents! This was a bit alarming to me, it was extremely easy to find this information, what if this kid had decided to talk trash to someone who might do something violent or stupid because of it? If somebody wanted to they could find this kid and hurt him. That just wouldn’t cut it for me, so I did the best thing that I could think of even though it would probably piss him off. I called his parents. After me and his dad had a lengthy conversation about online privacy issues and the way his son was acting, i felt a bit better that they would take the steps necessary to regulate their teenage son’s activities on the web. The kid did send me an email actually thanking me for the rude awakening that I gave him, that was a bit of a surprise to me, but I’m glad that I had helped out. If only more parents knew what kind of issues cyber bullying and online trash talking could cause they would most likely watch their children a bit closer on the web.

That’s it for today folks! Hope you like my new blog site and design!
